Mouse Embroidery
I started my mouse embroidery square while I was at Exeter Craft Festival in July this year. I knew it would be a ‘mice’ little project (sorry couldn’t help it) for those quiet times during events. I actually didn’t manage to stitch that much at the festival and ended up cutting out most of what I did stitch…. But that is the great thing about embroidery, its so easy to pick up and put down and anything you’re not happy with can be re-stitched or stitched over.
March Stitch Along - Sunny Meadows
Hello again! I must say….I have absolutely loved this one! I may have gone a bit overboard with the colours though – at the end of stitching I’ve used 11 colours in total, a few more than I thought I was going to use but I just couldn’t help myself. The spring flowers have really sprung into action over the last for the couple of weeks and are just displaying so many colours!
February Stitch Along - The Lighthouse
Hello again! I’ve just finished off my February stitching so thought this was the perfect time to write the blog to go along with it. Although these stitch along blogs are going to be more like little recap guides for those of you wanting something to refer to quickly if you fancied stitching your own embroidery squares.
How I stitched my Seagull
How did my embroidery squares come about?
For me, tracing patterns onto fabric is the bit that I do not enjoy doing. I don’t have a light box, so I tape patterns onto windows and trace the best I can, but my arm aches after a while, my pen stops working properly from holding it up and I usually miss bits of the pattern. So, before I’ve even threaded my needle, I feel like I’ve already got off to a bad start with my embroidery. And so, having my designs pre-printed ready to colour in with thread takes away that initial faff and allows you to get going with the fun bit…….the stitching!
