Hello!

Welcome to my little Blog! I’ve thought about starting this for a while, but I’ve been stopped by the crippling thoughts of not having any interesting content or enough time to write it. But todays the day………I am taking the plunge!

For those of you who know me already – Hi! It’s so nice to see you here. I hope you’re going to enjoy reading about my behind the scenes, newest makes, events, my product benefits and tips, news and other amazing indie businesses that I’ve discovered and want to share with you.

For those of you who don’t know me yet – Hi, I’m Liz! Very pleased to meet you. I’m the face, hands and mind behind my little Bluebell Love indie business.

All of my work starts with a roll of white fabric that’s about the same size as me!

I design, print and sew all of the goodies in my shop from my little studio on Dartmoor, Devon. My designs come to me from the things that I like and enjoy, from wildflowers growing in the spring hedges to colourful happy beach huts at the seaside. They all start as little sketches and are then transferred onto fabric by either screen printing, block printing or a mixture of both.

Screen printing umbrellas for my duck design.

Here I’m block printing the beaks, legs and umbrella handle for my ducks.

I started Bluebell Love because I wanted to use my creativity to bring some joy into the world – even in my tiny way – there can never be too much! Creating small goodies that someone out there is going to smile about and enjoy really is the thought that fills my heart with warm fuzzy goo.

I’ve got to say, back in 2015 when I started Bluebell Love I naively thought that running an indie biz was going to be a breeze! But boy oh boy how far I’ve come! If only I knew then what I know now!

My first products were lavender bags and after years of development and trial and error with my printing process (with many many mistakes along the way!) they are now one of my most popular items. When I look back at my first craft fairs, I can really see how far they and I have come. The hurdles I’ve got over and the downs that I’ve waded through to find the gems of ups has kept me going to develop what is now something that I’m proud of.

And so, I would like to give a huge thank you to friends and family for buying those first products and helping me through those early Bluebell Love years and to all of you lovely customers for allowing me to continue to bring the joy!

Until next time,

Liz x
